PREDOC.org Research Conference

PREDOC.org Research Conference

PREDOC.org is pleased to announce its third annual Research Conference in Washington, D.C. from July 31 to August 1, 2025. At this conference, students present their original research in quantitative social science fields to fellow undergraduates, faculty, PhD students, and pre-docs. Professional development panels will cover topics from the graduate school experience to career diversity in the quantitative social sciences. This conference is an excellent opportunity for students who want to learn more about a research career, as well as those who are already committed to research and looking to get feedback on their work and expand their networks.

There is no fee to attend this conference. PREDOC.org will support domestic travel costs for student participants, including flight, lodging, and incidentals (like ground transportation and meals).

Who Should Apply?

  • Current undergraduates at a US-accredited institution;
  • Students working on questions that address human behavior, social structures, or societal patterns, and use statistical, mathematical, or computational techniques;
  • Those with projects at least at the preliminary stage that have gone beyond initial analysis, and who have true arguments and conclusions to share at the conference.

PREDOC.org Research Conference: Call for Proposals

The PREDOC.org Research Conference solicits projects in Quantitative Social Science fields. By this, we mean questions that address human behavior, social structures, or societal patterns, and use statistical, mathematical, or computational techniques. Mixed methods projects (which combine quantitative and qualitative methods) are welcome. Quantitative social science fields include (but are not limited to) Behavioral Science, Demography, Economics, Political Science, Public Health, and Sociology.

This Call for Proposals solicits two kinds of projects. The first, panel presentations, are substantive pieces of analysis which may have been completed by a group. These presentations may be exploratory in nature, and point to interesting future work. The second, poster presentations, are more developed pieces of research. The research project may be preliminary, but should have gone beyond initial analysis and have true arguments and conclusions to share.

To apply, you will need to provide:

  • contact information;
  • the title of your project;
  • and a brief write-up of your question, methodology, and preliminary results (2-4 pages).

You do not need to have a finished project in hand to submit a proposal, but you should be able to demonstrate in your write-up that you will have something to present by the time of the conference.

The call for proposals is now closed. Please reach out to info@predoc.org with any questions.
